Instructions:
Please arrive by 8:50am to get settled so that we may start on time.
The Silent retreat will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and will finish around 2:00- 2:30p.m. The drive from central Austin to Still Waters Retreat Center is around 20-30 minutes. To set the mood for your day, you may want to turn off your radio and enjoy a mindful drive through the beautiful Texas countryside. Please follow the instructions below or see the link to the map on the mbctaustin.com website. Make note that the entry gate code number is (to be announced) Drive through the gates and follow the road until you see the two houses on the left. There will be a parking area on the right side of the road. Please leave your cell phones & workbooks in the car.
We will be gathering in the main house. When you enter the house we will be sitting in silence until the program starts with the ringing of the bells.
Please wear comfortable clothing that is layered so that you can choose to do your walking meditation indoors or outdoors if you so desire. Bring a rain jacket and umbrella if it looks like it'll be rainy. Bring your yoga mat, a blanket/throw/jacket (the room is often cold) and an open heart & mind. Bring a water bottle to keep close at hand. There are chairs and couches there, but let me know in advance if you want me to bring a meditation cushion for you.
Lunch will be served in the main house. The planned menu will be chicken breasts, green salad, a green vegetable, rice, a vegan soup, hummus, fruit, bread rolls, gluten free crackers, and herbal tea.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.
